Mycoocoon is  a project that has been making chromatic waves in design spaces around the world over the past couple of years.  Set up by Valérie Corcias & Dominique Kelly, who developed their colour expertise while working at the Pantone Universe Brand.  After moving to Brazil to establish Agitateur de Symboles, a multidisciplinary communication agency specialising in sustainability and innovation, they created the Mycoocoon concept.

Mycoocoon is a chromotherapy system which, as described on their website, “combines ancestral beliefs with the use of technology”. Subjects are firstly invited to do a colour test that determines the colour they need to balance their energy.  They are then immersed in an organic coloured light under bio compatible lamps.  After spending time bathed in this coloured light, the idea is that they emerge refreshed and rebalanced.  According to the testimonials, it’s very effective.

Colour has long had universal associations with different moods, emotions and energies and this modern application of such associations is both innovative and exciting. The unique Mycoocoon therapy has been installed through pods and curtained sanctuaries in spas and cultural spaces around the world  such as Sketch in London, Heimtextil Well-being 4.0 in Frankfurt and Shoreditch House in London most recently.

Mycoocoon is a wonderful example from the growing space where technology meets well-being in which innovative techniques have been used to elevate and transmit natural instincts and healing therapies.  Visit Mycoocoon’s site here for more details and to keep posted on when the Mycoocoon Colour Institute App will be released.  We can’t wait!
