This week our tech rock star comes from emerging tech city Vienna. Fast emerging as a tech hub, Vienna’s combination of good access to tech talent and generous government subsidies, means it is home to some very impressive startups.

This week our tech rock star is serial entrepreneur, Florian Dorfbauer. Co-founder of several successful companies, Florian is active in the Vienna startup scene. Not only heading up his own startups, he also organizes the popular SaaS Club in Vienna, a bi-monthly meeting specifically for entrepreneurs running a Software-as-a-Service businesses.

Prior to setting up various technology companies, Florian was a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences St Pölten, teaching Linux and Python methodologies.

Before going on to co-found Delmoo Media, which aimed to bring cook books into the digital age. The mobile app Cooklist would list all the required ingredients from some of the most popular cookbooks, making deciding what to cook each night that one bit easier.

He then went onto become CEO at La Gentz, heading up a team which built high end web applications.

His most recent project is perhaps the one he is best known for, his startup Usersnap has seen phenomenal success, with more than 25,000 professional users including the likes of Microsoft, Facebook and Google. It has even been listed in Forbes, as one of the European startups to watch out for.

In the last three years Usersnap has grown into a fully fledged bug tracking and feedback tool. A visual bug tracker, Usersnap’s is an all round tool useful for all team members both in large scale enterprises and young startups. Allowing for easy collaboration between all levels of industry, Usersnap works seamlessly within your team to allow for cross sectional team development, workflow and feedback process. Usersnap allows its users to communicate visually in seconds what it might take minutes to an hour to explain. The idea is based on the science that our brains can process visual information 80,000 times faster than text. The pivotal screenshot tool is a way of showing how to amend a point, quick and easily without verbally going back and forth to describe a problem or issue.

With already major companies utilizing Usersnap, we are sure this startup is going to go from strength to strength and we can’t wait to see what cool projects Florian will start on next.
