Startup Watch: Doctolib
This week’s startup to watch is the Paris based startup, Doctolib.
Doctolib is the number one online booking platform and management software provider for patients and Doctors in France. With more than 2 million patients using the service each month, Doctolib is the go to website to book a dentist or doctors appointment. The service is free and is available 24/7, 7 days a week, with a user friendly interface the service allows patients to find a doctor’s availability and make appointments directly with the doctor online.
Doctolib charges a fixed fee of €99 a month to the estimated 12,000 health workers that use the service, providing them with an improved booking management system, covering all medical appointments and patient base development, reducing the number of patient no shows dramatically. Doctolib is currently adding 600 doctors to the platform each month and they expect this to double over the coming weeks and months.
Founded in 2013, the French startup was the idea of Stanislas Niox-Chateau, Ivan Schneider and Jessy Bernal, the platform has had over 2 million monthly visitors and currently has 15 offices across France. It was recently featured on Wired’s list of hottest startups in Paris 2016, and CEO Stanislas was featured on Forbes 30 under 30 list. The startup continues to go from strength to strength and towards the end of last year raised $20 million in investment, which Doctolib plans to put towards consolidating their position in the French market and then expanding into other European countries. We think this is a great startup and we hope it makes its way to England soon!
