Frankfurt is the economic powerhouse of Germany and central Europe, the most international city in Germany and the largest financial centre on the continent. A financial metropolis, it is home to one of the world’s largest stock exchanges and is a key financial and transport hub for the rest of Europe.

A renowned tech hub, Frankfurt is fertile ground for innovation and startup businesses, home to successful startups like Traxpay and Tripmii. There are multiple factors that have contributed to Frankfurt’s thriving startup ecosystem; ease of access to international markets, a diverse talent pool and access to capital and in turn potential investors and funding, hence the increasing number of fintech startups coming out of the city, thanks in part to Frankfurt’s financial ecosystem.

Despite being a modern business centre Frankfurt still has a charming cultural character, brimming with history with village like neighbourhoods throughout the city. Very much an international city, Frankfurt has excellent transport connections, home to the third busiest business airport in Europe, a prime position for conducting business across Europe and the rest of the globe.

Frankfurt’s reputation as an international, cosmopolitan city open to an international workforce stems from centuries as a trading centre. Almost one in three people living in Frankfurt do not hold a German passport and this is clear in the vast number of restaurants serving cuisine from across the globe and the many international supermarkets catering to numerous cultural needs.

Frankfurt particularly comes alive at the time of year as it hosts one of the largest Christmas markets in all of Germany. One of the oldest in Germany, thousands of Christmas lights line the streets, while the air is filled with the scent of mince pies, gingerbread and mulled wine which can be enjoyed under the tallest Christmas tree in Germany. If all of that wasn’t enough, we also have a number of opportunities in thriving Frankfurt, see our jobs board for a full list of companies and startups looking for talented technologists!
